About Us

There has been a growing concern and increasing demand by Muslim community to have a domestic violence service provider which would be able to understand and be sensitive to the cultural dynamics of the community and provide support and prevention services accordingly. This need was addressed by founding an organization as Family First Welfare Trust as a domestic violence support and service provider for Muslim community in specific and all other ethnicities in general with the support of SAMA and FIANZ.

Organizational holistic & strength based approach is reflected in its slogan as “Supporting Families, Strengthening Communities”, where FFWT believes that each Kiwi should have a life free from domestic violence.

Muslim women and families suffering from domestic violence are encouraged to consult FFWT services in confidence (See our Privacy Policy) as all possible support would be available there as a specialist organization in servicing Muslim clients across all ethnicities.

Islamic values of the Muslim clients would be recognized and along with the tradition and ethnic diversity, a good integration into NZ community would be facilitated according to NZ laws and systems. The doors are open for all other communities as well where ethnically appropriate service would be provided if they would be suffering from domestic violence and need us in a family crisis or family breakdown situation.

As also it is mentioned in Quran (Surah Al Maidah: Verse 32), “and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.”
